Back again...

So I know it's not the New Year yet, but it's getting close and this year I promise to get this blog up and running with regular posts!  In the next few days I'll be posting the pictures of this years Christmas Card Creations finishing with MY Christmas Card - which is pretty cool (if I do say so myself).

Stay tuned and thanks for following!!

Super long time....

so it's been ages!
I'm done work at the garden centre, I've moved and I'm starting a new job in a week!  I'm also back to  school and have a thesis due in 5 weeks!!!  Needless to say I'm busy - BUT I've also been making Christmas cards like a crazy woman - in fact, my sales have been so good, I can hardly keep up!!!  I'm finally getting some stock built up for the sale I'm doing at the beginning of December in St. John's!

Here's a sample of some of what I've been up to!

wow...it's been a looooong while

So, it's been a while.

I'm working full time for the summer as a Landscape Designer for a local garden centre and the 12 hour days are keeping me pretty busy!  I haven't done much of anything lately :'(  Now it looks like we might be moving in a couple months, probably to a smaller space meaning even less crafting space.  I might even have to unload some stuff......

I do need to get my hands on a new catty though...I'm not a demo anymore so I didn't get one in the mail, I guess I'll have to find someone local who can sell me one (or give me one out of the goodness of their heart when i promise to order all my moving card, christmas card and other supplies from them...)

Here are a few pictures of things I've done lately!

This is a book I made for friends of mine who had a baby in December.

Still working away

Hi all!
I'm still working on great projects for the upcoming sale in St. John's, I haven't had a chance to get pictures uploaded yet but I promise to post some new projects soon!

My summer mini pre-order should arrive tomorrow (hopefully I'm home from work in time for the UPS man!)

There are some fantastic changes coming for the new catty in July, can't reveal them yet but let's just say being a hostess is going to get even better (if you can believe it).  If you want to get your hands on some new product right away check out the Spring Is Blossoming promotion on now!

More new creations

These are 2 mother's day cards I've done for the Fresh Fish craft show and sale in St. John's May 1st.  I don't have a mother's day greeting stamp at the moment so these don't have a greeting on them that makes them obvious mother's day cards but I think you can feel it.  This card uses the Slice of Life stamp set from Sale-A-Bration.  I also used my Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I just love how it adds that little something something to cards - it's that extra layer of interest.  I can't make a card without it right now!

The image is coloured in using Stampin' Pastels and a Blender Pen - and of course, I used some Basic Rhinestones!  I love them, the bling just makes them pop :)

Hope you enjoy.  I'm working on some more great projects, maybe you'll see them later today (grad cards, mothers day tea dates, fathers day cards will be coming soon!!)

And on a personal note - I start my new job on MONDAY!!!!!

Summer Mini Pre-Order!

Just placed  my Summer Mini Pre-Order!!  I had to keep it small, I don't start work until monday and I'm not sure when my first payday will be but I'm still super excited!  I'm also participating in a swap for the summer mini so I'll have some great samples to show!

Big Shot and other fun stuff I've made today :D

So I've spent today playing with my new toys!!
Here are some of my samples for today.

This is my first Big Shot card.  I CASE'd the sample from a card I saw on the Stampin' Up! demo discussion board, Stampin' Connection.  There are a bunch of samples like this so I won't like all the creators - but I won't claim to be the creative brain behind this one.

This card used the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder  and the Punch Bunch Sale-a-Bration stamp set.  I also used some retired ribbon and cardstock.

This card also features Punch Bunch using the Square Scallop Punch. This uses Pacific Point cardstock and ink, Old Olive 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon as well as Basic Black cardstock.
This card is based on the same theme as the Happy Birthday card above again using Punch Bunch.  This card also features what are my current obsession - Rhinestones.   I love them, they're on almost every project I do if I can possibly get away with it.  They add so much and they're super deal.  This card is in Tempting Turquoise and Basic Black.

Same card as above but in Concord Crush. The blue is retired from a couple of years ago - I just loved the way they looked together.
I don't love this card, but it's a first try.  This uses the Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Embossing Folder as well as Stampin' Pastels and Smooch Spritz.
This card I adore.  This uses the Birthday Bakery hostess set.  Again I used my rhinestones :)

I also used a Versamarker to emboss the cake plates.  I'm not 100% happy with how they came out but I think it adds a little something something.

I'm still playing - I have lots more cards to make in the next few weeks.  The Fresh Fish craft fair is coming up in St. John's and my sister and I plan to have an amazing table!

-Everything Nice stamp set

Tomorrow, Tomorrow!

My boxes have arrived in Windsor On!  Hopefully they're still going to be delivered tomorrow!  I made a couple cards last night, I'll take pictures later.  I'm a little distracted today, my friend had a little boy in December a little more than 3 months premature - he's a fighter but he's got a big day ahead of him so we're all send love and happy thoughts out to her and her little family.  If those of you reading this can take a moment and think happy thoughts for baby Felix I would appreciate it!

Stampin' Love!

Can't wait for Wednesday

My order will be here Wednesday!!  I'll have my Big Shot!  I am SOOOOOO excited.  I'm busy planning projects for the Fresh Fish Five craft fair in St. John's NL.  My sister and I are going to have a great display!

On a side note - I just got a preview of the Summer mini!  I'm super excited about that too - lots of great new products coming.  I'm not supposed to order anything else - I am still on a budget - but I'm going to have to take advantage of the pre-order!

Keep checking back, there will be lots of new projects coming VERY soon!

I'm still here...

Wow - I didn't realize how long it's been - I'm still here, sorry I've been busy on the job hunt (and nearing the end of my supplies).  BUT it was just my birthday which means I have some money to spend on new toys for me (gotta love family members who give you $$$ - and I have a very generous family).

I just placed my Happy Birthday to ME order today and guess what I'm getting......THE BIG SHOT!  I can't wait.  I've got 2 embossing folders, 2 dies and a letterpress coming to use with it!  Be prepared for some great new projects.

My sister and I are also entering a spring craft fair in May meaning I have to get to work.  And speaking of work - I'm no longer unemployed!  I start my new job at the end of the month (and just in case I have another interview this week!)

I'll be stalking front door impatiently waiting for my new order....it probably won't arrive until Tuesday next week (if the past is any indicator) but hopefully I can last until then - at least I didn't order any food named products this time (i don't think) so I shouldn't have any border troubles (customs doesn't like our Cherry Cobbler etc...)

Well that's all for now, I promise to post more soon and I'll have some fantastic new products to show soon!

Stationary Box

Make this Stationary Box - Great Gift
You will need:

2 pieces of Designer Series Paper (DSP) (pp.173-175, IBC 2010/11)

Crop-a-dile (p. 198, IBC 2010/11 item 108362)

Brads (p.187, IBC 2010/11)

Pen

Sticky Strip (p. 197, IBC 2010/11 item 104294)
  • or another strong adhesive
Paper Snips (p. 199, IBC 2010/11, item 103579

Paper Cutter with Scoring Blade (p. 199 IBC 2010/11, item 104152 & 104154)

Step 1

Score 1st piece of 12x12 DSP at 5" and 7", rotate and score again at 3" and 9".  Cut sides to score lines.                                                                           .

Step 2

Fold in tabs and stick with sticky strip for extra support

Step 3

Cut 1 3/4" off the bottom tabs only (save scraps for later).  Score both top tabs at 1".

Step 4

Cut 2nd piece of DSP at 4 1/4" (save larger piece for later).  Trim smaller piece to 4 1/4" x 8 1/2".  Score both shirt sides and 1 long side at 1 1/4".  Trim the corners for a nicer fold.

Step 5

Using sticky strip, attach to the smaller side of the base to form card holder.

Step 6

Use paper snips to angle the edges of the card holder.

Step 7

Take the remaining half of the 2nd sheet of DSP and cut a 2" strip.  Save larger piece.  Cut 2" strip to make 2 pieces that are 4 1/2" x 2" and 5" x 2".  Score both pieces at 1" and 1/2" on both short sides.

Step 8

Apply sticky strip to all 4 outer flaps and to 1 of the inner flaps.  Attach the two pieces together via the inner flap, then attach the whole piece to the card holder to form the tag and love note holders.

Step 9

To make the address book, use the 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece left over from earlier.  Trim to 3 1/2" by  3 3/4".  Trim several sheets of lined paper to 3 1/4" x 3 1/2" (I made my book 6 sheets thick but you can use as many as you like).  Line up the DSP and lined paper on the left hand size, punch 2  small holes using the crop-a-dile.  Attach the pages using 2 brads.  Decorate the cover of the address book as you like.  Using sticky strip, attach the address book to the base of the box.

To make the stamp holder, take one of the 1 3/4" x 3" scraps (from when you trimmed the box in step 3).  Score at 1/2" on both short and 1 long side.  Trim corners, and fold scored pieces under.  Adhere to the base, next to the address book with the opening facing AWAY from the card holder (so the stamps don't fall out when you close the box)

Take the other 1 3/4" x 3" scrap and roll it to make the pen holder.  Adhere at the edge of the base above (when closed) the address book and stamp holder)

Step 10

Using the remaining piece of DSP from sheet 2 (5 3/4" x 12") cut to 5 3/4" x 9 3/4".  Score at 1 3/4" on all sides.  Trim corners and cut to score lines.  Using sticky strip, fold up edges to form box top.  Embellish as desired.

Step 11

Make some standard cards, 3x3 love notes and gift tags to go in the box - You're DONE!

Box Instructions

As promised...here are the instructions for the card boxes!!

So start with an 8.5 x 11 piece of cardstock, score and cut as shown above.  Fold edges using adhesive (i find glue or sticky strip works best) to form box.

Holds standard size cards very nicely :D

New projects!

I fell in love with this stamp set in the Summer mini.  The phrases are so cute.  SO i made a simple set of boxed cards with the 3 phrases

I'm going to give these as gifts for birthdays and other special occasions.  The little box adds a nice touch (at least i think so)

I adore Greeting Card Kids.  This set is one of my favourites (i'll never declare one set as my all time favourite).  I think these make the cutest note cards or even valentines.

More cards :)

I'll post directions for this box tomorrow - have to write them up for you :)

It's been a while

Well...it's clearly been a while since I posted.  School was much busier than I'd anticipated this semester and with work I just ran out of extra hours in the day.

My sister and I do a joint table at a craft fair every Christmas and this year we had a terrific weekend and almost tripled our sales over last year!

I'm currently trying to find an internship (which means no classes this semester) but it means I'm unemployed at the moment (but hopefully not for long) so I have no scrapbooking/card making budget to buy all the amazing new stuff SU! has out in the new mini and for Sale-A-Bration coming up.

I'm going to get everything updated here in the next few days, get up links to all the great new promos!

Happy Stamping :D
