Stationary Box

Make this Stationary Box - Great Gift
You will need:

2 pieces of Designer Series Paper (DSP) (pp.173-175, IBC 2010/11)

Crop-a-dile (p. 198, IBC 2010/11 item 108362)

Brads (p.187, IBC 2010/11)

Pen

Sticky Strip (p. 197, IBC 2010/11 item 104294)
  • or another strong adhesive
Paper Snips (p. 199, IBC 2010/11, item 103579

Paper Cutter with Scoring Blade (p. 199 IBC 2010/11, item 104152 & 104154)

Step 1

Score 1st piece of 12x12 DSP at 5" and 7", rotate and score again at 3" and 9".  Cut sides to score lines.                                                                           .

Step 2

Fold in tabs and stick with sticky strip for extra support

Step 3

Cut 1 3/4" off the bottom tabs only (save scraps for later).  Score both top tabs at 1".

Step 4

Cut 2nd piece of DSP at 4 1/4" (save larger piece for later).  Trim smaller piece to 4 1/4" x 8 1/2".  Score both shirt sides and 1 long side at 1 1/4".  Trim the corners for a nicer fold.

Step 5

Using sticky strip, attach to the smaller side of the base to form card holder.

Step 6

Use paper snips to angle the edges of the card holder.

Step 7

Take the remaining half of the 2nd sheet of DSP and cut a 2" strip.  Save larger piece.  Cut 2" strip to make 2 pieces that are 4 1/2" x 2" and 5" x 2".  Score both pieces at 1" and 1/2" on both short sides.

Step 8

Apply sticky strip to all 4 outer flaps and to 1 of the inner flaps.  Attach the two pieces together via the inner flap, then attach the whole piece to the card holder to form the tag and love note holders.

Step 9

To make the address book, use the 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece left over from earlier.  Trim to 3 1/2" by  3 3/4".  Trim several sheets of lined paper to 3 1/4" x 3 1/2" (I made my book 6 sheets thick but you can use as many as you like).  Line up the DSP and lined paper on the left hand size, punch 2  small holes using the crop-a-dile.  Attach the pages using 2 brads.  Decorate the cover of the address book as you like.  Using sticky strip, attach the address book to the base of the box.

To make the stamp holder, take one of the 1 3/4" x 3" scraps (from when you trimmed the box in step 3).  Score at 1/2" on both short and 1 long side.  Trim corners, and fold scored pieces under.  Adhere to the base, next to the address book with the opening facing AWAY from the card holder (so the stamps don't fall out when you close the box)

Take the other 1 3/4" x 3" scrap and roll it to make the pen holder.  Adhere at the edge of the base above (when closed) the address book and stamp holder)

Step 10

Using the remaining piece of DSP from sheet 2 (5 3/4" x 12") cut to 5 3/4" x 9 3/4".  Score at 1 3/4" on all sides.  Trim corners and cut to score lines.  Using sticky strip, fold up edges to form box top.  Embellish as desired.

Step 11

Make some standard cards, 3x3 love notes and gift tags to go in the box - You're DONE!

Box Instructions

As promised...here are the instructions for the card boxes!!

So start with an 8.5 x 11 piece of cardstock, score and cut as shown above.  Fold edges using adhesive (i find glue or sticky strip works best) to form box.

Holds standard size cards very nicely :D

New projects!

I fell in love with this stamp set in the Summer mini.  The phrases are so cute.  SO i made a simple set of boxed cards with the 3 phrases

I'm going to give these as gifts for birthdays and other special occasions.  The little box adds a nice touch (at least i think so)

I adore Greeting Card Kids.  This set is one of my favourites (i'll never declare one set as my all time favourite).  I think these make the cutest note cards or even valentines.

More cards :)

I'll post directions for this box tomorrow - have to write them up for you :)

It's been a while

Well...it's clearly been a while since I posted.  School was much busier than I'd anticipated this semester and with work I just ran out of extra hours in the day.

My sister and I do a joint table at a craft fair every Christmas and this year we had a terrific weekend and almost tripled our sales over last year!

I'm currently trying to find an internship (which means no classes this semester) but it means I'm unemployed at the moment (but hopefully not for long) so I have no scrapbooking/card making budget to buy all the amazing new stuff SU! has out in the new mini and for Sale-A-Bration coming up.

I'm going to get everything updated here in the next few days, get up links to all the great new promos!

Happy Stamping :D
