Swaps Swaps and more Swaps!!!!!

So I just hosted a Christmas Card Swap and received all sorts of wonderful cards in return. I can't post them all at once but I'll share a few each day for the next couple of days. They're so great!!!

This is by Cheryl Luchka from Prince George BC - she used Cherry Cobbler and Kraft Cardstocks and Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper, Gifted Stamp Set and Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon

This is by Liz Goldhawk - she used Wild Wasabi, Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride and Whisper White Cardstocks, and Candy Cane Designer Series Paper.  Paisley Prints and Seasonal Sentiments stamp sets, White and Clear Embossing Powders, 1 Basic Rhinestone, the 2.5" Circle Punch, Old Olive Craft Ink and Certainly Celery Classic Ink

This is a creation by Lisa Hart - she used Whisper White Cardstock, Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight Ink, Delightful Decorations stamp set, the Petals-A-Plenty Embossing Folder, and the Ornament Punch

These ladies did amazing work, there will be more of these great swaps to come!  Hope you enjoy!

Card Crazy!

I've been having a great time getting Cards made....here are 3 I've done for far
This card uses my new favourite set - Greeting Card Kids, as well as the Music Notes wheel, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake cardstock. It also uses the new Victorian lace trim.
These guys are so adorable. I love the Merry Crittermas stamp set almost as much as Greeting Card Kids. This card shows how great the clear stamps are. These are actually only 2 stamps, the racoons come as 1 stamp - I cut them apart, the clear block makes it really easy to set up great scenes like this one. This card uses Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip cardstock.
This is Circle Circus another great set. This uses Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Very Vanilla cardstocks, Old Olive Grosgrain ribbon and silver embossing powder.

New Order Bliss :D

I got home from work yesterday to find my order sitting at my front door! Someone must have taken pity on my UPS man and let him in the building. I'm so excited to play with all my new toys! I of course ripped into everything right away, I LOVE the clear stamps! They're amazing. Those things that look like DVD's in the picture....those are the clear stamps! Think about how much space I'm going to save! There's no mounting hassles (always my least favourite part of a new order) I've added 6 new punches to my inventory and look at that wonderful cardstock! I've got the whole long weekend off so expect to see some great new pictures posted in the next few days! Swaps are also starting to arrive from the Christmas card swap I'm hosting for other Canadian demos. Once I have them all and have sent them back I'll be posting a picture of them all here! It'll be a few weeks still but I don't want to spoil the surprise for all the swappers :)

Order Excitement!!

So my order is placed and has now been shipped :D I'm sooooo excited, I don't know when it's going to arrive, there's no delivery date yet but I really hope it shows up before the long weekend (my other demo order took about 6 business days to arrive so it's possible). Just cross your fingers for me that my box doesn't get stuck at the border like so many others have - apparently the food names of our colours confuse the border officers and they place agricultural holds on our boxes....I really want to play. Expect to see pictures of my new toys soon :)

So Excited....it's order time

So I got my first order today!! $81.70 before tax, I'm pretty happy with it - all decor elements items. The customer also loves the idea of handmade cards but admits she has zero patience and thinks she's not creative. I'm going to work on that! In the meantime she's ordered some Christmas cards from me and is talking about getting me to do her wedding invites!! (I offered to do up a kit for her if she wanted so that she was making them with a little help from me - save her a little cash as I wouldn't charge as much for the kits as for the full invite). I'm finalizing my new demo order, want to make sure I get everything I need without killing my bank account...I've cut my wishlist in half but I'm still over budget. I'm justifying my purchase by telling myself I've already got orders for $120 worth of cards and I'm scheduled for a craft fair in December and I made a little over $200 there last year....I should be able to at least break even (RIGHT)?!

So many pretty things....I want half the catty....I guess I just need to win the lotto :)

This is one of my favourite cards I've made for this Christmas. These cards are going to be sold at a craft fair in December so I've been trying to use up some of my retired supplies. The tree and background are using the Snow Swirled stamp set. I stamped the tree image with versamark and then used silver embossing powder. The buttons are left over from last years Button Latte designer buttons. There's a small circle punch of Barely Banana under each button. I have also done these cards using Naturals White card stock and coloured Top Notes. I love the simplicity of this card, there's not a lot going on but it's still elegant and classic.

For all you other paper crafters out there...a question

so i love what i do, it's fun, it's creative, it's relaxing but it's really hard to make money! i don't have the space to host workshops and open houses or stamp-a-stacks. i also don't know that many people around here and if i posted a kijiji ad inviting people to my home my boyfriend would have a fit (and i can't really blame him....)

i've tried selling on etsy and that hasn't been successful, i have a facebook group where i showcase my stuff but i don't generally get any interest or sales from it. does anyone have any advice or tips - how do i turn my hobby into profit!?

Order Time!

well i'm trying to get my order ready but it's so hard to decide. The 2010-2011 catalogue is so fantastic i can't decide what i want - well, i want it all! i'm pretty sure i've decided on my 2 new christmas sets for this year, Merry Crittermas from the new 2010 Holiday Mini and Greeting Card Kids from the current catty. they're so cute!!! i'll be posting pics as soon as i get my new toys - you know i'll be playing with them as soon as they arrive. i hope you're all as excited about this new catty and the soon to be released holiday mini as i am. as soon as the mini is live i'll have a link posted on the blog.

happy stamping

a little more about me

i live in ontario. i'm currently a landscape architecture student at the university of guelph. i've been stamping and scrapping for about 3 years now. i was introduced at a friend's christmas shopping party (a bunch of independent consultants for different companies get together and have a huge sales night, pampered chef, partylite, avon, fantasia etc) and a demo was there selling some retired stock and teaching a simple card. i was hooked immediately. i've been in love with Stampin' Up ever since.

i am now a demo myself and love sharing it with people. if you live in the guelph area and want to get together you can contact me via my Stampin' Up site. you can shop online as well!

on my blog i'll post examples of things i've done as well as items done by others that i love (i will always give credit to the person who did the item if it's not one of my own).

everything i make is available for sale as well. if you're interested in purchasing any of these items please contact me.

this is one of my 2010 card designs. Uses the Loads of Love stamp set, wild wasabi, riding hood red, not quite navy, kiwi kiss, baja breeze and very vanilla cardstock. (I had some trees left from last year in the kiwi kiss...normally i would have used wild wasabi again.

Welcome!

This is my brand new blog! I'm a bit of a Scrapbooking and Stamping addict so here's where I'll share my obsession with everyone else and hopefully some like-minded people :)
